A Staff of Life Bakery helper will learn recipe calculations (basic math), measure ingredients by weight, mix following instructions, turn and portion doughs over time, perform final forming of dough for overnight fermenting/rising.

This is an over 18 job candidate who can repeatedly lift to waist/should height 50 lbs. which is the maximum weight. Will use commercial equipment for mixing and forming doughs: 30 qt commercial mixers, divider/rounder for dough, automated dough former. Some knives and cutting boards will be used in addition to food processor and microwave oven. Using a scale and cleaning all the above listed equipment plus hand washing dishes used is expected.

Independent job once trained, takes about 2 months to get bearings to know what to do. Working with another person on Thursdays because of increased production that day. Fun and small business. Not a high paying job, but a skill builder, ethical and physical. Time management will be important for success. You will make a difference!

Specific hours YEAR ROUND POSITION: Sundays 2-8 pm; Tuesdays 2-8 pm; Thursdays 2-8 pm; additional times may become available.

Duration of position All year.
