Longtime housewares industry leader Thomas Perez – known for his work with brands like Bodum and Georg Jensen – has joined Rosendahl Design Group and its portfolio of international brands in a new joint venture as a partner and CEO.

Denmark-born Perez started his career in the housewares industry in 1988 working with Royal Copenhagen, which also operated Georg Jensen and Holmegaard at the time, as its European export manager. Later, as export director for Royal Scandinavia, a company made up of Royal Copenhagen, Swedish Orrefors, Kosta Boda Crystal, Boda Nova Hoeganaes and the Italian Murano-based Venini, he oversaw operations in 45 countries including the United States.

From there, Thomas moved to Switzerland working for Bodum, to build and expand the brand in the global market, later moving to Sydney, Australia to set up and build the organization in New Zealand and Australia. After establishing that base in 2006 Perez took responsibility for Bodum in the entire Asia Pacific before moving to New York to serve as CEO of Bodum USA with responsibility for North and Sout America.

After 7 years with Bodum in America, bringing significant growth and making the brand a household name for coffee and tea products, Perez focused in on coffee, joining venture-backed coffee tech company Alpha Dominche in 2015. Moving the company’s base to New York, Perez worked to grow commercial and consumer market distribution, going so far as to open a café and product showroom for the brand called Extraction Lab to host industry members and consumers alike.

Perez returned to his roots in 2019, rejoining Georg Jensen in New York to help the company reposition itself in North America. In just three years, Perez was able to help bring the company its first profitable year for North America in 20 years, more than doubling the revenue, before moving into his new role.

In his new role, Perez will work to bring Rosendahl Design Group’s eight Danish legacy brands to the North American market. He will also continue to serve as a global strategic advisor to home coffee brewing equipment company Fellow and maintain the coffee shop and wine tasting bar he owns with his wife, Marianne.
